This is a great recipe from a old community cookbook that belongs to my mother. It is unfortunate that so many neat recipes are hidden in the pages and not so many people know of them! I had to pass this one on,enjoy! 8-) Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening |
2 cups brown sugar |
2 unbeaten eggs |
1 1/2 cups cake flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
3/4 cup peanuts |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Melt shortening.
2. Add in brown sugar and mix.
3. Add in eggs, dry ingredients, vanilla, and peanuts.
4. Spread into a greased pan.
5. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
6. Let cool, then cut!
