this is so simple! an old syrian recipe, you can use the leftovers for soup using chicken broth Ingredients:
1/2 cup olive oil |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 cup lentils |
1 cup white rice |
salt, pepper |
cilantro, mint,yogurt for garnish |
Directions:
1. in pan heat oil, add onions to brown, set aside. 2. combine lentils and 4 c water in a large saucepan, bring to boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes add rice, onions in oil, salt and pepper, cover and cook 25-30 minutes. 3. serve hot, warm or cold, garnish w/yogurt and herbs. |
