This was my MIL's recipe. A classic. We serve over mashed potatoes, would be good over rice or noodles. Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs round steaks, trimmed of fat |
1/3 cup flour |
1/8 teaspoon black pepper |
3 tablespoons olive oil |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup chili sauce |
1 medium onion, sliced |
1/3 cup stuffed olives, sliced |
Directions:
1. Cut meat into bite size pieces. Mix flour and pepper. Dredge meat in flour and brown in oil in large skillet. (May need to brown in batches). 2. Combine ingredients for sauce. 3. After all meat is brown, return to pan and pour sauce over meat. 4. Cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 hour. |
