A wonderfully delicious cookie. When Ida made these cookies all of us kids would follow the aroma into the kitchen. I think we must all still have the memory of those soft warm cookies with a glass of milk. Note: Cooking time is for one batch in the oven. Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
1 egg |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon vanilla (originally said 1 lid full) |
3 tablespoons applesauce (can substitute milk) |
1 1/2 cups flour |
12 ounces chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and brown sugar. 2. Mix in egg. 3. Stir in salt, baking soda, vanilla, applesauce and flour. 4. Add in the chocolate chips. 5. Nuts can be added if desired. 6. Place by spoonful on greased cookie sheet or use parchment. 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. |
