Great blend of spices - warm out of the oven - perfection! Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tbs sugar |
3 tsp baking powder |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/8 tsp nutmeg |
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed |
1/3 cup raisins |
1/2 cup milk |
3 tbs maple syrup |

1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1/8 tsp vanilla |
2 1/4 tsp milk |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add raisins. In a small bowl, combine milk and syrup; stir into the crumb mixture just until moistened. 2. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times. pat or roll out to 1/2 thickness; cut with a floured 2 1/2 biscuit cutter. 3. Place biscuits 1 apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. 4. Meanwhile, combine the powdered sugar, vanilla and enough milk to achieve the desired consistency to drizzle over the warm biscuits. |
