A summer favourite, when your garden is overgrown with mint. Easy to make, and delicious! Cook time is cooling time. Original recipe from Homemakers Magazine had 1/4 cup lime juice, but after Acadia's review, I adjusted it, as I agree that is too much and is overwhelming. I think that lemon juice compliments the taste more, as well. For a vegan version, use agave nectar! Ingredients:
6 cups water, boiling |
1 1/2 cups mint leaves, fresh, loosely packed |
2 -3 tablespoons green tea leaves (4-6 tea bags) |
1 tablespoon lemon juice (more, to taste) or 1 tablespoon lime juice (more, to taste) |
honey or agave nectar, to taste |
Directions:
1. Pour boiling water over mint leaves and green tea leaves; let cool. Strain and stir in lime juice, and honey to taste. 2. Serve in a tall glass with ice cubes and a sprig of fresh mint. |
