Cool and smooth. Cooking time includes chilling time. Ingredients:
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 (12 ounce) package crushed vanilla wafers, crushed |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted |
2 quarts vanilla ice cream or 2 quarts flavor of your choice ice cream, softened |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt chocoate chips with milk and salt; cook and stir until thickened, about 25 minutes. 2. Remove from the heat; set aside. 3. Combine wafer crumbs and butter; set aside 1 cup. 4. Press remaining crumbs intoa greased 13x9x2 inch pan. 5. Chill for 10-15 minutes. 6. Pour chocolate over crumbs. 7. Cover and freeze 20-25 minutes or until firm. 8. Spread the ice cream over chocolate. 9. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. 10. Freeze at least 2 hours before serving. |
