An old fashioned cookie that is a classic. Its very nice since you can divide up the time. Make the dough one day and bake the next. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
6 cups flour |
3 eggs, beaten well |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Cream sugars, butter and shortening. 2. Beat eggs and add vanilla. 3. Add this to creamed mixture. 4. Sift flour, salt and baking soda together; add nuts to the batter to make a stiff dough. 5. Mix together well and shope into rolls. 6. Roll in waxed paper and place in cool place or refrigerator. 7. Next day, slice and bake in 350 oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until done. |
