I tasted this bar at a potluck and liked it so much, I kept watch to see who claimed the plate so I could get the recipe! They were called Jeans Bars (eat too many and you won't fit into your jeans), but I thought they needed a new name! Read more ! Ingredients:
b>crust |
3/4 cup butter |
1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp. sugar |
11/2 cups flour |
b>filling |
1 cup graham cracker crumbs |
1/2 cup chocolate chips |
1/2 cup walnuts |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 tsp. baking powder |
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk |
b>frosting |
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar |
1 tsp vanilla |
1/3 cup butter |
3 oz. cr. cheese |
Directions:
1. Crust 2. Mix crust ingredients & pat into a 9 x 13 pan. 3. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. 4. Filling 5. Mx filling ingredients and spread over baked crust. No need to cool the crust first. 6. Bake for 15-20 minutes. 7. Cool. 8. Frosting 9. Blend together butter and cream cheese. 10. Add vanilla and beat in powder sugar until creamy. 11. Frost bars. 12. Note:These should be stored in the fridge because of the cream cheese but taken out a little before serving. For easier cutting, cut before refridgerating. 13. Note:I think these could also be very good made with white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts instead of chocolate chips and walnuts. |
