Directions:
1. Pour oil to depth of 3 inches 2. into a Dutch oven; heat to 375°. 3. Combine cornmeal and next 4. ingredients. Add egg and 5. buttermilk; stir just until moistened. 6. Let stand 10 minutes. 7. Drop batter by rounded 8. tablespoonfuls into hot oil, and 9. fry. in 3 batches, 2 to 3 minutes 10. on each side or until golden. 11. Keep warm in a 200° oven. |
