Times are approximations. Ingredients:
3/4 cup cornmeal |
1/4 cup flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 egg |
6 tablespoons milk |
2 tablespoons onions, grated |
Directions:
1. Sift together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. 2. Beat the egg and add milk and onion. 3. Stir liquids into corn mixture all at once and drop by tablespoons into deep fat - 375°F. 4. Fry a few minutes until golden brown. 5. Drain on paper toweling and serve hot. |
