Came from Weight Watchers. I didn't note quantities. I think it was one half cup, but even at 1 cup, it would still be 194 calories. Allow for serving over half a cup of cooked wide noodles or rice. Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground turkey |
1 large onion |
1 clove garlic |
1/2 c canned tomato sauce |
2 tbls worcestershire sauce |
1/2 tbls sugar |
1 1/2 tsp table salt |
2 tsp paprika |
1/2 tsp dry mustard |
1/4 c flour (whole grain wheat if possible) |
1 cup beef broth, fat free |
Directions:
1. Place meat in slow cooker, breaking it up a bit. Cover with finely chopped onions. 2. Combine minced garlic, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, paprika, mustard, and 1 cup beef broth. Pour over meat. 3. Cook on low 5 to 6 hours. 4. Dissolve flour with just enough cold water to make a thin paste. Stir into meat mixture. 5. Cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes, or until slightly thickened. 6. Serve over noodles or rice. |
