This came from a package of chick peas that I bought. I don't have all the ingredients, so I haven't tried it yet. Ingredients:
1 cup dried garbanzo beans (soak overnight and drain) |
1/2 cup olive oil |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin |
1 pinch ground cayenne pepper |
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1 tablespoon sesame butter (tahini) |
2 garlic cloves |
salt |
Directions:
1. Cook chickpeas in a saucepan at moderate heat for 1 hour or until tender. Drain. 2. In the same saucepan, add 1 TBSP olive oil, cumin, cayenne pepper. Saute at high heat for 1 minute. Drain. 3. Puree in a blender to a smooth paste. 4. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. |
