Great middle eastern dip that can be eaten with pita bread, but is also wonderful with veggies such as carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes & pepper strips. It is made with tahini which can be found in most large supermarkets or you can make your own rz#269589. Ingredients:
2 cups cooked chickpeas (garbanzo beans) |
1/4 cup tahini sesame butter |
1/2 cup olive oil |
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice |
2 garlic cloves |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Put the garbanzo beans, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic into a blender or food processor with steel blade.rocess until the hummus is smooth. 2. Season to taste with salt and pepper. 3. Transfer to serving bowl and drizzle with a little additional olive oil to prevent drying out. |
