mom's hummus. great on crackers. makes a small bowl that i keep in the fridge and pick at throughout the week Ingredients:
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1 can chick peas, drained and rinsed |
1/4 cup tahineh (spelling ) - this is ground sesame seed paste. mom said it would be by the peanut butter, but i found it in the foreign food isle by the chickpeas. |
3 tblsp. lemon juice |
2 tblsp. water |
1 tblsp. olive oil |
1 tsp. cumin |
1/2 tsp salt |
Directions:
1. blend everything in a blender or food processor until smooth. i have a piece of crap blender from walmart ($9.99!) so my hummus is more chunk than smooth.....but still delicious. i poured in more lemon juice and olive oil. keep it in the fridge. eat on pitas, sandwiches, crackers |
