I had long avoided recipes that required 'skinned' tomatoes until I found this simple and quick method! Ingredients:
1 medium tomato |
1 cup boiling water |
Directions:
1. Take a sharp pointed knife and score a cross on to the bottom of each tomato. 2. Then put them into a bowl and cover with freshly boiled water. 3. Leave in the water for 30 seconds to a minute or until the skin at the cross point comes away very easily. 4. Drain the tomatoes, cover with cold water to stop them cooking and making them easier to handle and drain again. 5. Remove the skin, it should now peel away easily. Then just continue preparing them as you had planned. |
