This is a great recipe for entertaining or for Christmas gifts. WARNING: They don't last long. I found this in Good Housekeeping 11/97
Ingredients:
8 ounces walnuts (2 cups)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350*.
2. Place walnuts in a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 jelly roll pan.
3. Toast walnuts in oven 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix sugar, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, ground red pepper, and salt.
5. Remove walnuts from oven, drizzle spice mixture over the nuts and toss until thoroughly coated.
6. Spread nuts in a single layer, cool completely in a pan on a wire rack.
7. Store at room temperature in tightly covered container up to a month.
8. Makes about 2 cups.
