Hot Spiced Carob

The ginger gives this delicious drink a little kick and the spices sprinkled over the top will tantalize your taste buds! From Whole Foods.
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 inch ginger, peeled and halved
3 -4 tablespoons carob powder
2 cups almond milk (or dairy, rice or soy milk)
honey
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground cardamom
whipped cream (optional)
cinnamon (to garnish) (optional)
Directions:
1. Bring 2 cups water and ginger to a low simmer in a small pot.
2. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes over low heat. Remove and discard ginger. Add carob powder and stir until blended completely. Add milk and honey and heat until hot but not boiling.
3. Pour hot spiced carob into mugs and sprinkle with cinnamon and cardamom.
4. Add dollops of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with cinnamon if you wish. Enjoy!
