The name is also a tongue-twister :) Ingredients:
1 slice bacon |
2 tablespoons finely chopped onions |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 dash pepper |
2 cups shredded cabbage |
1 small apple, pared and finely chopped |
1/4 cup sour cream |
Directions:
1. In 1-quart saucepan, fry bacon till crisp; drain; reserve drippings; crumble bacon. 2. Add onion to bacon drippings and cook 2 minutes. 3. Stir in vinegar, 1 tablespoon water, sugar, salt and pepper. 4. Bring just to boiling. 5. Add cabbage and apple, toss to coat. 6. Cover and cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until cabbage just wilts. 7. Stir in sour cream; top with crumbled bacon. |
