These chicken burgers are flavoured with garlic, mustard and Worcestershire sauce and topped with bubbling Cheddar cheese. Serve with burger buns, salad leaves, sliced tomato and tomato ketchup or mayonnaise. Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts, roughly chopped |
1 garlic clove |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 -2 teaspoon mustard powder |
2 scallions, roughly chopped |
vegetable oil, for frying |
2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese |
salt and black pepper |
Directions:
1. Place the chicken, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, scallions and seasoning into a food processor and process to a paste. 2. Divide the mixture into 4 portions and roll each into a ball then flatten slightly to make quite thin patties. 3. Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the burgers for 3-4 minutes on either side, turning with a fish slice, or until golden and cooked through. 4. Meanwhile heat the broiler and toast the burger buns, if using. When the burgers are cooked place on the grill pan and cover each with thin slices of cheese and broil until golden and bubbling. |
