A twist on Spinach Dip Ingredients:
2-10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped spinach |
1/2 stick butter |
2 tbls. flour |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
8-10 oz. pepper jack cheese, shredded |
2 tbls. onion, finely chopped |
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce |
3/4 tsp. celery salt |
3/4 tsp. garlic powder |
1/2 tsp. pepper |
1/4 tsp. lemon juice |
1/4-1 tsp. hot sauce (add according to taste) |
1/2 cup buttered breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Grease 1 quart casserole dish 3. Cook spinach according to pkg. directions 4. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup liquid 5. In saucepan, melt butter over low heat 6. Add flour, stirring until smooth 7. Cook for a minute, stirring constantly 8. Add spinach, liquid, and all other ingredients, except breadcrumbs 9. Stir until smooth 10. Pour into casserole dish 11. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs 12. Bake 25 minutes |
