This recipe goes back to the day (early ‘90’s) when I attended my first Pampered Chef in-home party…you always sampled a variety of yummy foods prepared in their pans, etc., to temp you to buy their kitchen products. Read more . This bread spread was a big hit – yes, I bought the bread pans! Ingredients:
1 cup mayonnaise (no substitute) |
1 cup sour cream |
2 (.7 or 1 ounce) packages dry italian dressing mix (such as good seasoning) |
1/4 cup finely diced red, orange or green bell pepper |
11/2 cups grated swiss cheese (gruyere is excellent, too) |
sliced italian, french, rye, or any hearty bread |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients, except bread slices, together in a bowl. 2. Pour mixture in a generously buttered shallow casserole. 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, until dip is hot and bubbly. 4. Serve with bread slices. |
