Got a vegetable lover in the house so I try to find different ways to prepare them....Got this out of a magazine years ago Ingredients:
1 lb.green beans, rinsed and stem trimmed |
1/4 cup water |
2 tbls. soy sauce |
1 tbls. rice wine vinegar |
2 tsp. sugar |
1/4 tsp.red pepper flakes |
1/4 tsp. pepper |
1 tbls. olive oil |
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped |
2 tbls. fresh ginger, finely chopped |
1/4 cup shallot, thinly sliced |
Directions:
1. Cut beans in half 2. In mixing bowl, add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, pepper flakes and pepper and combine 3. In skillet over high heat high heat, add beans and water 4. Cover and cook 3 minutes 5. Uncover and cook until all liquid is gone 6. Add oil, garlic, ginger and shallots to skillet 7. Stir and cook a minute or so....Beans should brown slightly 8. Add soy sauce mixture, bring to boil and constantly stir until most of liquid is gone and sauce coats beans |
