A very good, easy comfort dessert. Makes a wonderful cake with a rich, creamy pudding on the bottom. Mix and bake in the same dish. Super easy. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
4 tbls. cocoa |
4 tsp. baking powder |
1/2 tsp salt |
1 cup milk |
4 tbls. shortening |
sauce |
2 cups brown sugar, packed |
4 cups boiling water |
1/2 cup cocoa |
note there are no eggs in this recipe |
Directions:
1. Mix first 7 ingredients together in a big casserole dish or roaster. You want it deep enough to hold the sauce and the rising cake in. 2. Spread it around so it covers the bottom. 3. Mix the sauce ingredients together and pour over cake. Do not mix. 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. 5. This is fantastic served warm with vanilla ice cream or evaporated milk poured over it. |
