The cake will rise to the top and there will be a rich chocolate sauce on the bottom of the pan. Serve hot or warm with a dollop of ice cream or vanilla yogurt. Don't be put off by the unusual directions to this incredibly rich tasting dessert.
Ingredients:
group 1 ingredients
1 cup (225g) flour
1/2 tsp (2g) salt
3/4 cup (150g) sugar
2 tsp (8g) baking powder
2 tbs (30g) cocoa powder
2 tbs (30ml) vegetable oil
1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
1/2 cup (100ml) non-fat milk
group 2 ingredients
1/2 cup (100g) white sugar
1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
6 tbs (85g) cocoa powder
also
non-fat cooking spray and 1 cup (240ml) boiling water
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (176.6°C).
2. Spray a 9-inch square (23x23cm) pan with cooking spray.
3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine group 1 ingredients and stir well. Pour into sprayed pan.
4. In another bowl, combine group 2 ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle this mixture over the uncooked batter in the pan. Pour the boiling water gently over the top. Bake for 45 minutes.
