The cake will rise to the top and there will be a rich chocolate sauce on the bottom of the pan. Serve hot or warm with a dollop of ice cream or vanilla yogurt. Don't be put off by the unusual directions to this incredibly rich tasting dessert. Ingredients:
group 1 ingredients |
1 cup (225g) flour |
1/2 tsp (2g) salt |
3/4 cup (150g) sugar |
2 tsp (8g) baking powder |
2 tbs (30g) cocoa powder |
2 tbs (30ml) vegetable oil |
1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract |
1/2 cup (100ml) non-fat milk |
group 2 ingredients |
1/2 cup (100g) white sugar |
1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar |
6 tbs (85g) cocoa powder |
also |
non-fat cooking spray and 1 cup (240ml) boiling water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (176.6°C). 2. Spray a 9-inch square (23x23cm) pan with cooking spray. 3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine group 1 ingredients and stir well. Pour into sprayed pan. 4. In another bowl, combine group 2 ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle this mixture over the uncooked batter in the pan. Pour the boiling water gently over the top. Bake for 45 minutes. |
