What better to have on gingerbread waffles on a crisp Christmas morning? The recipe is from Gooseberry Patch Homespun Christmas. Ingredients:
2 cups fresh cranberries or 2 cups frozen cranberries |
1 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 cup water |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup butter |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, granulated sugar and water; bring to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves. 2. Reduce heat and continue to cook until berries pop; approximately 5 minutes. 3. Stir in the brown sugar and butter; heat until dissolved. Serve warm on French toast or my favorite gingerbread waffles. |
