Since cold weather is coming, I thought I'd add my favorite dip for holiday parties, casual get togethers and just lounging on the couch watching a movie. It's rich and cheesy. I use cubes of baguette to dip in it. Ingredients:
3 packages of cream cheese |
1/2 cup mayonaise |
1 teaspoon prepared mustard |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
2 teaspoons old bay seasoning |
1/2 cup dry white wine like chardonnay or 1/4 cup of sherry but i prefer the white wine |
juice of half a lemon |
1 teaspoon lemon zest |
1 pound lump crabmeat, canned |
1/4 cup green onions, sliced |
baguette, cut into cubes |
toothpicks for stabbing bread and dipping in fondue |
Directions:
1. Over a double boiler, heat cream cheese, mayonaise, mustard, garlic powder, Old Bay, and lemon zest until cheese has melted. 2. Then stir in wine and lemon juice. 3. Add crabmeat carefully so that you have big chunks. 4. To serve, transfer to a fondue pot with the bread and toothpicks. |
