This recipe was on one of my recipe disks. I tried it and it was great, except if you're going to use potato chips on the top instead of the Chow Mien Noodles, I'd NOT use the 1 tsp of salt in the recipe. Try it and let me know what ya'll think. Ingredients:
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup |
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese |
1 cup mayonnaise |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon pepper |
4 cups bite-sized pieces cooked chicken |
1 cup slivered almonds |
2 cups celery, chopped |
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained |
2 cups potato chips or 2 cups chow mein noodles (more or less to preference) |
Directions:
1. In Large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients. 2. Stir until smooth, then mix in the remainder of the ingredients. 3. Put mixture into a baking dish. 4. Top with a thick layer of either crumbled Potato Chips or Chow Mien Noodles. 5. Bake at 350³F for 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly. |
