This dressing is a wonderful dressing for German Potato Salad or Wilted Spinach Salad. Ingredients:
5-6 slices of bacon |
1/2 cup of sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon cornstarch (or 2 tablespoons flour) |
1 egg beaten |
1/4 cup vinegar |
1 cup water |
Directions:
1. Cut bacon into small pieces and fry till crisp~reserve drippings.
2. Combine sugar salt and cornstarch; add egg, water and vinegar; whisk well.
3. Pour mixture into hot bacon drippings. Cook till consistency of medium gravy.
4. Use for German Potato Salad dressing or Wilted Spinach Salad.
