I made this for my families Sunday Big Breakfast. My family liked it. When I made this I used Juicy Juice apple juice, I used sweetened cinnamon applesauce as that's what I had on hand, and I added 1/2 teaspoon more cinnamon. I tripled the batch and it turned out just fine. I had enough to feed my family and still have some for breakfast the next day. I thought it is very filling. I think it would be great with chunky applesauce. I got the recipe from Everyday Health. Ingredients:
1 cup oats |
1 cup apple juice, apple |
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, unsweetened |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ground |
Directions:
1. Mix oats and juice in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and cover. Let stand for 5 minutes. 2. Add applesauce and cinnamon and stir well. For more fiber, add 1 tablespoon dried fruit, nuts or bran. |
