this recipe is easy to make... it can be as hot and spicy as you like by adjusting the type of green chilies used and the amount of cayenne added... the recipe make 2 logs... the original recipe is from Family Circle Ingredients:
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, at room temperature |
1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese |
2 cans (4 ounces each) diced green chiles, drained |
1/4 cup dried onion flakes, softened in 1/4 cup water |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
2 cups chopped pecans |
crackers, sliced fruit and vegetables for serving |
Directions:
1. 1. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chiles, softened onion flakes, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. Form into two 8-inch logs, wrap and refrigerate for about 15 minutes. 2. 2. Place nuts on waxed paper and roll each log in the nuts. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve with crackers and sliced fruit and veggies. |
