this is a hot and spicy snack.. it's out of a gifts from the kitchen cookbook.. you can also use other nuts.. I'm not fond of peanuts so pecans or cashews are my choice.. Ingredients:
1 - 2 tbsp. dried crushed red pepper flakes |
3 tbsp. olive oil |
4 cloves garlic, pressed |
1 can ( 12 oz. ) salted peanuts |
1 can ( 12 oz. ) spanish peanuts |
1 teasp. salt |
1/2 teasp. chili powder |
Directions:
1. in a large skillet heat oil to hot. add the red pepper flakes and cook for 1 min. 2. stir in garlic and the peanuts. 3. turn heat to medium. cook for 5 minutes stirring constantly 4. remove from heat sprinkle with salt and the chili powder 5. drain on paper towels 6. cool completely 7. store in an air tight container 8. make 4 cups |
