I adopted this recipe a while ago and have changed the amount of salt. The original recipe called for 1/2 cup which seemed far too much. Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsalted butter |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon cumin, ground |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder |
3 cups natural almonds |
sea salt, to taste |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Melt the butter in a medium-size saucepan. 3. Add worcestershire sauce, cumin, sugar, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. 4. Cook over low heat for 2 - 3 minutes. 5. Add the nuts and stir to coat evenly with seasonings. 6. Spread the nuts on an ungreased baking sheet and toast for 15 minutes, turning occasionally. 7. Remove from the oven and toss with sea salt. 8. Cool. |
