Adapted from traditional recipe from the Kentucky Derby Ingredients:
4 eggs |
3/4 cup white sugar |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 tablespoons bourbon(we never have it, gotta ask a neighbor!) |
1 cup white corn syrup |
1 stick melted butter(1/2 cup) |
1 tablespoon flour |
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans |
1 cup chocolate chips |
1 unbaked pie shell(home-made or store bought) |
whipped cream for garnish, if desired |
Directions:
1. Beat the eggs 2. Add them to the sugars, vanilla, bourbon, corn syrup, butter & flour 3. Mix well 4. Distribute nuts and chips in the bottom of the pie shell 5. Pour the filling on top 6. Bake for 45 minutes 7. Best served warm 8. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired 9.
