My horses love these. Very chewy Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats |
3/4 cup flour, enough to bind |
6 large carrots, shredded |
3 tablespoons molasses, a natural electrolyte |
2 teaspoons coarse salt or 2 teaspoons sea salt |
2 tablespoons flax seeds, whole seed |
2 tablespoons cold ground flax seeds, ground |
1/4 cup vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Mix ingredients together and roll into balls on sprayed cookie sheet. 2. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes till slightly firm. 3. Bake for approximately 50 minutes moving the balls around so they don't stick every 15 minutes. 4. When they are finished, they are still a bit soft. If too soft – then bake a bit more. 5. Makes about 3 dozen. |
