Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened |
1 cup sugar |
3 eggs |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup molasses |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup bourbon whiskey |
2 cups raisins |
2 cups chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 2. Combine next 4 ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Combine molasses and baking soda; add to creamed mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients. 3. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9- x 5- x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Refrigerate cake for easier slicing. |
