Sorry about the name of the recipe but this is how it was received from a member of my husband's family. This is basically a sausage meatloaf with saurkraut. If you like saurkraut this dish is a must for any cook. Traditionally served on the first day of the year. Ingredients:
1 lb bob evans sausage (mild) |
1 egg |
2 (16 ounce) cans sauerkraut (to taste) |
3/4 cup cooked rice |
10 -12 crackers, crushed |
1 dash salt and pepper (to taste) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. 2. Mix all ingredients, and shape into a loaf. 3. Surround with saurkraut with juices. 4. Bake for 2 hours. 5. Serve with mashed potatoes. |
