This is fondant (candy) to feed honeybees in the winter. It is not for human consumption (well, it wouldn't hurt you, but, yuck). I like to keep all my recipes in one place! Ingredients:
1 cup water |
5 lbs powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
cooking spray |
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, water, vinegar and vanilla and heat. Do not heat to over 240 degrees. Mix in 1 t Honey Bee Healthy if you have it on hand. 2. Spray smooth paper plates with oil and pour mixture to mold. Let sit a couple of days, then pop out of mold and feed one in between the brood boxes (near wherever all the bees are). 3. Extra plates of fondant can be frozen. |
