I have not tried this recipe. I got it from Tops courtesy of National Honey Board. Ground beef can be used in place of the ground turkey. Ingredients:
1/4 cup chopped onion |
1/4 cup chopped celery |
1/4 cup grated carrot |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 lb ground turkey |
1/2 cup tomato paste |
1/4 cup honey |
3 tablespoons water |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce |
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
4 hamburger buns |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. In a large pan over medium heat, saute onions, celery and carrots in oil until soft. Stir in turkey; cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until turkey is browned and crumbly. 2. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer, covered, 3-5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. 3. Divide mixture evenly between hamburger buns to serve. 4. Note From National Honey Board: Honey should not be fed to infants under one year of age. Honey is safe and wholesome food for children and adults. |
