Honey Habanero Oatmeal Cookies |

This unusual cookie does have a little kick however, the sweet flavors shine through. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of butter at room temperature |
1/2 cup of brown sugar |
1/4 cup of honey or agave nectar |
one egg slightly beaten |
1 tablespoon of water |
1 teaspoon of vanilla |
1/2-cup whole-wheat flour |
1/2-teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2-teaspoon ground cloves |
a pinch of allspice |
1/2 to 1 teaspoon of minced habanero pepper. |
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda |
1 1/2 cups of rolled oats |
1/4 cup of raisins |
chocolate |
one 3.5 oz bar of milk or dark chocolate |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. In a medium bowl, mix the butter, brown sugar, honey, egg, water, Habanero pepper and vanilla. 3. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients 4. Combine all the ingredients together and mix well. 5. Drop large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet. 6. Bake for 12 – 20 minutes until golden brown depending on the size of your cookies and oven. 7. Cool for ten minutes then remove to a wire rack and let cool completely 8. Melt chocolate in a micro -wave and drizzle over tops of cookies. 9. Makes one dozen large cookies |
