These saucy little meatballs are a big hit in my home! They can be served as appetizers with toothpicks, or as a main dish over rice or noodles. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 small onion, grated |
1/2 sweet red pepper, finely chopped |
1/4 c dry bread crumbs |
2 tsp soya sauce |
2 tsp worcesterschire sauce |
1/4 tsp pepper |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 egg |
sauce |
1 c beef stock |
4-6 cloves garlic (grated or minced) |
6 tsp honey |
dash hot pepper sauce |
2 tbsp cornstarch |
2-3 green onions, sliced |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl mix beef with egg, onion, red pepper, bread crumbs, soy sauce, worcesterschire sauce, salt and pepper. 2. Form into meatballs and place on greased or lined baking sheet. 3. Bake at 450 for about 25 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, in large skillet combine beef stock, garlic, honey, cornstarch, and hot pepper sauce. Cook until thickened. 5. Add meatballs and the juices then stir to coat. 6. Sprinkle green onions over top and serve. |
