Perfect for those not into traditional southern cornbread. One piece is never enough of this sweet buttery cornbread. Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour |
1 cup yellow cornmeal |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 eggs-lightly beaten |
1 cup whipping cream |
1/4 cup vegetable oil |
1/4 cup honey |
1/4 cup butter-melted |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees 2. Pour melted butter into a 9 baking pan or a cast iron skillet. Set aside. 3. In a mixing bowl,combine flour,cornmeal,baking powder,salt,and sugar. Mix well. 4. Add eggs,cream,oil,and honey. 5. Stir until just combined. 6. Pour batter into pan or skillet. 7. Bake 20-25 minutes or until done. 8. Spread additional butter over the top if desired. Cut into slices and serve immediately. 9. Note: 10. If you don't have whipping cream,simply use half and half, buttermilk or whole milk. |
