Honey And Onion Beets

Here's still another way for beet lovers like me to dress up canned beets. From another old cookbook from my collection.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup honey
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 cans sliced beets
2 tbsp butter
1 medium onion or 1/2 large sweet onion
Directions:
1. Slice onion and separate into rings.
2. Drain beets and reserve 2 Tbsp of the liquid.
3. Blend beet liquid, honey and vinegar in a saucepan.
4. Add beets and onion slices and heat through.
5. Do not overcook-leave onion rings crispy.
