Delicious. Make ahead, refrigerate, divide into 4 portions and you have an excellent breakfast for 4 days - just reheat in the microwave and add a little milk if desired. For variety, top with fresh fruit. Ingredients:
2 cups skim milk |
1 1/2 cups water |
3/4 tsp cinnamon |
1/2 tsp salt |
1 1/2 cups cereal, rogers old fashioned large flake oats |
1/4 cup wheat germ |
1/4 cup almonds, chopped, toasted |
2 tbsp splenda |
Directions:
1. In large pot, bring milk, water, cinnamon and salt to boil. Sirt in oats and wheat germ and return to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring, for about 8 minutes or till thickened. 2. Stir in almonds and Spenda (or other sugar substitute if preferred) |
