This recipe pretty much started my love of cooking inspired by my Great Grandmother and my grandma .This dish is a hit at all holiday dinners and family reunions. Granny this one is for you!! Ingredients:
3 chicken breasts (with bone) |
2 cups chopped carrots |
2 cups chopped celery |
1 cup chopped onion |
2 lbs frozen egg noodles (i use reames) or 2 lbs homemade noodles (i use reames) |
4 (8 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup |
32 ounces chicken broth |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 tablespoon pepper |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. boil noodles and drain. 2. In a seprate pot boil chicken untill falling off bone. set aside and let cool.after cooling off de-bone the chicken and dice the breast meat in 1/2 inch cubes. set aside. 3. in a dutch oven melt butter and saute onions,celery and carrots until onions are soft ( you still want a little crunch to the celery and carrots). 4. add all your chicken,and chicken broth then noodles stir and simmer for 20 minutes. 5. now add your cream of chicken soup ,salt pepper and garlic powder. let simmer another 25-30 minutes.stirring occasionally. 6. This is the perfect dish for those bitter cold days in febuary when you cannot wait for spring. |
