Our family recipe for delicious healthy separable yogurt. What I mean by separable is that after a while of sitting in a container, the curds and whey separate. This is beneficial for the straining for yogurt to make yogurt cheese. Ingredients:
5 cups skim milk |
1 tablespoon yogurt (containing active live cultures) |
Directions:
1. bring milk to a boil and immediately remove from heat. 2. let cool until you can stick your finger in it and feel it warm but not burning. 3. mix in yogurt. 4. let sit in warm undisturbed place for 8-10 hours (overnight) until gelled. |
