A wonderful homemade spaghetti sauce that makes you look spectacular and all you did was open jars and cans and stir ingredients. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef, browned and drained |
1 lb sweet italian sausage, browned and drained |
1 tablespoon instant minced onion |
1 tablespoon parsley flakes |
3 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 -2 garlic clove, minced |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1 teaspoon italian seasoning |
3 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
3 cups vegetable juice cocktail (like v-8) |
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. In large dutch oven brown meats, drain off fat. Add seasonings and corn starch, tomato sauce, tomato paste and V-8 juice to browned ground meats. Simmer on medium low heat for 30 minutes. 2. Serve over cooked pasta. Can be used as sauce for lasagna. 3. Note: For those on reduced sodium diets, replace salt with salt substitute or Mrs Dash Garlic & Herb seasoning mix; replace sauces and juice with available low sodium products. Splenda sugar substitute may be used in place of sugar. |
