A wonderful homemade spaghetti sauce that makes you look spectacular and all you did was open jars and cans and stir ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
1 lb sweet italian sausage, browned and drained
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 -2 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
3 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
3 cups vegetable juice cocktail (like v-8)
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Directions:
1. In large dutch oven brown meats, drain off fat. Add seasonings and corn starch, tomato sauce, tomato paste and V-8 juice to browned ground meats. Simmer on medium low heat for 30 minutes.
2. Serve over cooked pasta. Can be used as sauce for lasagna.
3. Note: For those on reduced sodium diets, replace salt with salt substitute or Mrs Dash Garlic & Herb seasoning mix; replace sauces and juice with available low sodium products. Splenda sugar substitute may be used in place of sugar.
