Ingredients:
1 beef bones or 1 ham bone
3 quarts water
1/2 cup pearl barley
2 medium chopped carrots
1 medium chopped potato
1 medium chopped onion
1 cup cut up celery
1 cup cut up turnip
1/2 cup minute rice
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients and boil gently for 1 1/2 hours.
2. Add vegetables and simmer for 1/2 hour more.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
