1 beef bones or 1 ham bone |
3 quarts water |
1/2 cup pearl barley |
2 medium chopped carrots |
1 medium chopped potato |
1 medium chopped onion |
1 cup cut up celery |
1 cup cut up turnip |
1/2 cup minute rice |
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients and boil gently for 1 1/2 hours. 2. Add vegetables and simmer for 1/2 hour more. 3. Add salt and pepper to taste. |
