Homemade Grapenuts Cereal

This tasty, healthy cereal is much better than the store bought variety! Plus, it is easy to make, and kids love it!
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups buttermilk or plain yogurt
1/2 tsp. salt
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, wheat germ, oats, baking soda, and sugar.
2. Add buttermilk or yogurt and salt.
3. Stir until smooth.
4. Spread in a greased 9 x13 jelly-roll pan.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden and done. Cool on a wire rack.
6. When completely cooled, break into chunks.
7. Whirl in blender or food processor until crumbly.
8. Spread on two large baking pans and bake at 250 degrees for about 25-30 minutes, or until cereal is very crisp.
9. Cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container when completely cool.
