A PBS recipe I have slightly altered to make more like Jello we eat in our house. Ingredients:
2 (1/4 ounce) envelopes gelatin |
1/2 cup water |
1 1/2 lbs red seedless grapes |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Sprinkle gelatin over 1/2 cup water in medium sized mixing bowl. 2. Let sit. 3. Put grapes, sugar and 1/2 cup water into pot and bring to a boil. 4. Reduce heat and simmer 12 minute. 5. Using potato masher, smash the grapes in the pot to get all the juices out. 6. Using a ladle, scoop out the juice into a fine mesh strainer over the bowl of gelatin. 7. Press on the skins to get all the juice out. 8. You should get about 2 cups of juice (+/- 1/4 cup either way should work fine). 9. Pour into a greased loaf pan and chill until firm (3 hours). 10. Cut into cubes and serve with sweet cream if desired. |
